Our R&D department is focused on product development in response to market trends and our customers’ demand. This requires a close cooperation with our sales department. In addition, improvements on process efficiency and safety are also initiated by R&D. Our goal is to offer a high level of flexibility to enable the quick development of countertypes and new products, even with small target volumes.
The lab is equipped with a variety of physicochemical characterization techniques: IR, UV-vis, GPC, GC, GC-pyrolysis, PSD, automatic titration, centrifuge, bacteria test, rheometer, densimeter, penetration measurement, volumetric SiH content analysis, refractometer, material tests frame, microscopy, pH-meter and flame-point measurement. In addition, several synthesis and mixing setups are used for the preparation of a wide range of products.
Our lab staff are all-rounders and have expert knowledge of all of our products. Also we have personnel specialized in legislation and regulation, for example REACh registration. Key product lines we focus on are emulsions, defoamers, lubricants, personal care formulation, lubricant additive packages, chemicals and RTV-2 compounding. The main competences of the R&D department for physical processes are blending, dispersion and emulsification. For chemical processes involving silicones, these competences are hydrosilylation, condensation, re-equilibration, emulsion polymerization and ring-opening polymerization.
