BRB Silanil 299: The Multipurpose Silane

BRB Silanil® 299, with CAS number 2996-92-1, features a phenyl functionality that makes it a very versatile silane for use in synthesis and formulation.
The combination of functionalities, as shown in the chemical structure below, gives BRB Silanil® 299 just that extra that makes it a remarkable organofunctional silane.

The three methoxy groups of BRB Silanil® 299 undergo hydrolysis to form silanol (Si–OH), which subsequently condenses into siloxane structures (Si–O–Si). The phenyl group provides stability, hydrophobicity, and heat resistance.

BRB Silanil® 299 is a versatile silane combining hydrophobic phenyl groups with reactive methoxy functionalities. It serves as a key precursor in silicone chemistry, adhesion promotion, and advanced material synthesis, offering benefits in coatings, electronics, and nanotechnology.
